Christine Trainor is a Canadian visual artist who was born in Prince Edward Island in 1967. She is a graduate of the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University as well as the Ontario College of Art and Design.
A painter, printmaker, papermaker and bookbinder, Christine owns HazelTree Press & Paper, a private press and small handmade paper mill. Trainor's work has been exhibited in over 60 solo and group shows. Her paintings, prints and books are in hundreds of public and private collections, and have been the subject of documentary films. She has completed several public art commissions, and been the recipient of numerous awards, scholarships, and art production grants. Trainor is known for her richly coloured landscapes and fluid brushwork. Using landscape as metaphor for human experience, she explores the intense colours intrinsic to islands and coastal regions. |
